2026年,基础教学部外语教研室联合外语党支部正式开启“行走· 讲述· 传承”—— Travel Far, Tell China’s Stories, Pass On the Spirit of China 讲好中国故事活动。
Hello everyone! I am Jialei Wu from Electronic Control Graduate Class 25-9. Inspired by the school’s “Walk, Tell, and Inherit” activity, I visited The Exhibition Hall of Crime Evidence of Japanese Army Unit 731. During this visit, I tried to see the museum not only as a historical site, but also as a reminder of the importance of remembering history and protecting peace. From the preserved buildings and historical records to the exhibits and documents, I learned about the suffering caused by war and the value of truth and justice. Today, I would like to share this journey in both Chinese and English.
Part 1: Facing History, Facing Humanity
As I entered The Exhibition Hall of Crime Evidence of Japanese Army Unit 731, the first thing that caught my eye was the large words "Inhuman Atrocities." Displayed in several languages, they seemed to send the same message to people around the world: this history belongs not only to China, but also to the shared memory of humanity. Standing before these words, I felt not only the solemn atmosphere of the museum, but also the weight of history.

As I continued my visit, I realized that this place is more than a museum. It is a classroom that teaches us about history, war, and peace. The preserved site, historical records, and authentic evidence make history more than words in textbooks. They allow every visitor to experience the past in a direct and meaningful way. Only by remembering history can we better value the peace we enjoy today.
Part 2: Records of Crimes and the Truth of War
Walking deeper into the exhibition hall, the map of Pingfang and the historical panels gradually showed the outline of history. In the picture, “Pingfang” is not only a place name, but also an important site where this dark history happened. The texts, files, and photos on the panels support each other and help visitors understand the historical facts of Unit 731’s bacterial experiments and war crimes.

The “List of the Major Species of Bacteria Experiments of Unit 731” in the hall was especially shocking. The names of bacteria and records of experiments may look like cold words, but behind them were countless victims’ lives and suffering. These historical records are not shown to create fear, but to reveal the truth and preserve memory. They remind us that only by facing history can we prevent such tragedies from happening again.

Part 3: Remembering, Reflecting and Moving Forward
Toward the end of the visit, I stopped for a long time in front of a panel about “Exploring the Limits of the Human Body”. Although the words were brief, they reflected the many inhuman experiments carried out by Unit 731. Looking at these historical records, I felt not only shocked, but also a strong sense of responsibility. They reminded me that the suffering caused by war is far beyond imagination and made me value today's peaceful life even more.

This visit helped me realize that learning history is not only about understanding the past, but also about thinking about the future. As young people today, we should remember history, respect historical facts, and tell the true story with a rational and objective attitude. By sharing these lessons, we can help more people understand the importance of peace and work together to prevent such tragedies from happening again.
Conclusion
This visit to The Exhibition Hall of Crime Evidence of Japanese Army Unit 731 was a profound lesson in history. The historical records and preserved site helped me understand more clearly the great suffering that war brought to humanity and made me value today's hard-won peace even more. History should never be forgotten or distorted. Only by remembering history and respecting historical facts can we cherish peace and build a better future.
Let us walk closer to history with our steps, witness the truth with our eyes, and share the message of peace with our words. May every visit deepen our understanding of history, every story spread the truth, and every step forward strengthen our commitment to peace and a shared future for all.
